About the Blog's Title
New York State allows newly-married couples to choose as a new surname any combination of the letters from the groom’s and bride’s original surnames. Although we eventually went with Schaun's last name, we initially got kind of excited about this option and flirted with some interesting combinations of “Wheeler” and “Florian.” Our favorite version was “Fleeler,” which, you have to admit, is a whole lot better than “Whorian.”
